Smash Your Screen: The Mule of Tony Mahony and Angus Samson

Genre: Comedy | Crime | Drama
Country:Australia
Language:English
Year:2014

The world famous by now, scriptwriter of Saw and Insidious, Leigh Wannell, signs the scenario of this low budget black comedy, based on an unlikely true incident. The loafer Ray, agrees to help a friend to carry a large amount of heroin from Bangkok to Sydney, engulfing it inside him in rubber bags. But he is arrested and driven by the authorities in a hotel where he is forced to remain until the defecation of the product. This unusually funny story, does not want to teach anybody anything, just skillfully marries drama, thriller room and comedy, gives to Hugo Weaving (The Matrix), perhaps the most beneficial interpretation of his career while pinning the subconscious of the viewer small, sometimes, loathsome twists. With remarkable suspense and pace, the debut of Mahony / Samson could easily get in the lists of the best films of the year. I wonder if Tarantino has discovered it…
