Sodom seem not having any frame of mind of leaving from celebrating mood as we move away from their 40th anniversary yet the German titans of Thrash release another festive EP. So this five track EP, contains only one new song which is a re-recording from the last year’s single “1982”, three re-recorded demo tracks, that it was originally released lately as part of the “40 Years at War – The Greatest Hell of Sodom” boxset, but originally appeared: Witching Metal on the demo “Witching Metal” from 1983 while the track is also on the demo “Victims of Death ” from 1984 and EP “In The Sign Of Evil” 1985, Victims of Death : appears on demo “Victims of Death” from 1984, Let`s Fight In The Darkness Of Hell : also from demo “Victims of Death” from 1984; often just named “Lets fight”, and finally an expanded version that now includes a bonus track; ‘Equinox’ which was previously only available as a download exclusive, or on the cassette included in the boxset, originally from 1986’s “Obsessed by Cruelty”. A strictly targeting to die hards release, a crescendo of raw sounds, minimal chords punk attitude, proto thrash, speed primitive riffs and driving rhythms that shows how easily the band is recapturing the edgy atmosphere of the early eighties and every Sodomaniac will love and embrace with nostalgia. “1982” has been already released in select vinyl formats as well as CD through Steamhammer / SPV Records on November 10, 2023.
