The German label Testimony Records is one my favorites in the underground extreme sound . Several, more than just interesting releases has came out from the label such as Sentient Horror’s albums, “All of Them Witches” from The Dead Goats and also Carnal Tomb, Escarnium and more. So when a new album is about to be released I immediatly check it out.
The ‘zine asked me to review the debut album of Sodomisery, a new band from Sweden whose members have built a good reputation in other underground acts such as Diabolical, Smothered, Defueld and more. Their music is a blackened death metal that reminds of Αmon Αmarth and late Ιmmortal albums. There’s a very good production and everything is totally professional but what about the music? I heard the album several times, some good ideas and very good performance from the bands members but when the album ends nothing is left to be remembered. And that I happens after every single listening. Even though it has good coherence and solid music concept there is nothing special to be mentioned and none of the songs is better than the others to name it as a highlight.
Agood team which wants to set sights on success but their first attempt is not exactly well-aimed.
