Those coming from the Netherlands and especially those producing death metal, when they remember, they rejoice, as we say in Greece. Either they will reform as a band or they will release an album with the band they had about twenty years ago. Classic case of a breakdown (quote of a cult Greek comedy movie with K. Tsakonas) fits like a glove to some people up there in the north. So sixteen years later and the release of “Feeding On Angel”, Eric Daniels with Bob Bagchus, with the release of an album with Grand Supreme Blood Court in 2012, took Twan van Geel on bass/voice (Legion Of The Damned etc.) making a very good choice for the replacement of Wannes Gubbels. The guy is reaping. Musically the album is moving in the style of “FOD”, although I got surprised listening to ‘Under the Rise of a Red Moon’, after the intro of “Apotheosis Infernali”. I thought they got into black metal. Beyond that, the black metal references are much less in the rest of the album, as the barbaric death metal dominates everything, with the spirit of Celtic Frost being present throughout the album. Well done! Until Asphyx or Hail of Bullets decide to release their new albums, you’ll be just fine with this one. Definitely one of the top death metal albums of the year.
