Great news for TEN fans around the world! A new album has been released shortly after the previous one. The band’s new lineup seems to be thirsty for releases and tours (we recently experienced that mood live in Athens Kyttaro Club). The present release is in the vein of their previous album, Albion. The sound is melodic and Gary Hughes contributed to this result thanks to his great talent. Guitars are dominant as there are 3 guitarists in the band. The new songs’ style and level sound similar to Albion and that makes us suppose that they had been finished at the same time in the past. TEN’s friends will be satisfied for one more time, as all desirable features, such as celtic melodies, Gary’s erotic and undimmed voice and great guitars, appear in the album. It was difficult for me to individuate a song as favorite one. Even “Tell me what do”, which didn’t touch me at the beginning, turned out to be addictive due to Gary’s voice techniques that remind me of Coverdale. ‘Isla de Muerta’ is an album that I am listening to, continuously. Some songs, for example “The Dragon and King George”, “Dead Men tell no tales”, “Revolution” and “the Last Pretender” will be classic. In addition, the album includes 2 songs that will make you wanna drink (“This Love” and “We can be as one”). The negative aspect of Isla De Muerta is that it didn’t surprise me, as it is similar to Albion. Is it really bad??? Not at all! I just couldn’t find something negative to mention about it. I wish that the band will keep on releasing high-leveled albums and making live appearances. As far as rate is concerned, I think that the album has great potential to be rated as the best of the year (I have to admit that I have a weak spot for this band). I would have rated it with 5,5, if it had included a masterpiece like “Gioco d’amore”. I’m gonna open a bottle of rum and listen to it again!
