We start this review with a principle: “There’s no bad Thunder album”. Period. And don’t start complaining. It’s a principle; it’s not something to debate on. And since I’m done with the democratic procedure, we can start. I WANNA SEE THUNDER LIVE!!!!! Every video I’ve watched solidifies my Golden Rule, that the big bands are always better when performing on stage. Some of their songs switch from being merely good compositions, to something made of magic (a good example is “Loser” and “Shooting at the Sun”, that just lift off when played live). Having the aforementioned in mind, it’s nearly impossible to write a review. (I’m talking a bit too much on myself. Should I look at it?). “Wonder Years” is a very good Thunder album. Normally, I shouldn’t say anything more, those who like the band will rush into listening to it (and I applaud). It’s all included in here. Songs with attitude like i-chew-arm-vein-squirt-blood-graffiti, mid-tempo songs (you know what I’m talking about. The ones when you pour yourself a whiskey and put the album into play, mesmerized all along), the blues-influenced of the British style, the rock-ish songs that have some elements of Beatles, the…the….the…Alright, I don’t need to describe them, but as I say, they fruck, they just fruck! The production is flawless, the drums and the bass guitars are all clear, the guitars perfect, the voice of the god Bowes is, as always, full of emotion. You won’t discern a flaw in Thunder’s compositions. Someone who’s not familiar with them, may tell you that they have a lot of mid tempo songs, or ballad-lovesongs. THAT’S WHAT WE LIKE THOUGH!!! Give us more songs like “Wonder Years”, “The Rain”, “Black Water” and “Broken” and you’d better find us a liver because we’d be in need of a transplant. And those f$@%@ing lyrics…you read them on your own risk, after hiding all the piercing objects in the room. As a friend said (Hey Giannis), “instead of a review, why don’t you upload a label of Johnny Walker?”
