N.W.O.B.H.M. as a music movement set the foundations for Heavy Metal itself. It cannot be appointed in a few lines, but I would like to mention two things, given the release to be reviewed. The movement includes many bands-fireworks that after one or two releases disappeared from the scene. Also, several bands reached their peak in the 80’s, and then all the sudden they fade away as well. Tygers of Pan Tang aren’t amongst any of the above, although they could have enjoyed of wider recognition. “Majors & Minors” is the proof that band, is still rolling. It’s a best-of collection, with material from their last 4 albums, from 2008 till nowadays. It includes “Animal Instinct”, “Ambush”, “Tygers of Pan Tang” and “Ritual”. We’re talking about remarkable records anyway, so this collection contains only first class tracks. For those not that familiar with their later work, it’s an opportunity to dig deeper from their classic period. Traditional forms of Heavy Metal as expected, with a modern aspect, avoiding a polished production. Not many bands that started out with them back then, continue along with Tygers today. “Majors & Minors” is a tool getting to know the band for those that are not already fans, thus an opportunity for them to step into band’s former material.
