Typhus – Mass Produced Perfection

Genre: Speed/Thrash Metal
County: Hellas
Label: Punishment 18 Records
Year: 2020

Mass Produced Perfection is the debut album by Hellenic Speed/Thrashers (from the capital Athens) Typhus. The group was known as Nuclear Terror from 2009 ’til 2019. Now they are delivering a great blend of thrash with speed metal. The vocals may annoy some listeners (not me of course) as they are extremely high-pitched, but as a whole this release will satisfy the lovers of fast version of these two specific genres. 2020 was a shitty year. Actually total shit and that is including Thrash Metal too. But Typhus delivered an old school record as we’ve learned it from huge thrash metal bands from the mid 80’s. Songs like “Asylum of Deviants”,” Serpents of an Aberrant Reality”, “Faith Machinery”, “Dyatlov Pass” and my personal fav “In Our Image After Our Likeness”, have all the package of lunatic double bass drums pounding, frenetic twin guitars, screaming howls and manic solos. They may lack of originality, but the lo-fi production (I hate clean cut productions) and the old school smell, plus the extreme ability of writing memorable songs and catchy riffs make Typhus laugh at your cries, all you guys that are whining and whinging for this poor year in Speed/Thrash…
