“Hi there friends,
This week have been the most difficult in the history of Up the hammers festival.
It makes absolutely no sense to go now in details now we just need to state the facts.
As of now that we speak the law that was voted on 10 March by the Greek government says that no gigs over 1000 people will take place. Up the hammers is not even close to this number so this is not a problem for both warm up and main fest. We are following what the Greek government says every day and in case things change we will let you know immediately.
The last hours/days some of the bands expressed fear on traveling for medical or personal reasons and in the end decided to cancel their appearance in Up the hammers festival so Slough Feg, Trespass, Riot Act and Fifth angel are not coming to Greece. In addition to that Vultures Vengeance are stuck In red zone in Italy and Solitary Sabred cant make it to Greece. Dexter Ward will perform their set with Vaggelis from Valor and Nikos Papakostas of Strikelight as their singer Mark J Dexter is in red zone.
All other bands taking part in the festival are already here, on tour or willing to come to the festival so unless something else happens we expect no further cancellations.
We quickly searched for replacements and we now have in the line up Sacral rage, Remember Lizzy and Throne of Iron. In addition to that Atlantean Kodex will perform now full set and Toxik will headline both days performing different sets each day with entire “Think this” and “ World Circus” album.
