Undoubtedly, it happens very often that when we hear Germany, the mind goes straight either to Teutonic thrash or Teutonic power metal. Vision Denied belong to the second category, rushing from the south from Bavaria-Baden-Württemberg. The quartet (of which 3/4 are actually ex- Destinations Calling) in contrast to the conservative culture of their region, it unfolds beautifully giving us a melodic and sometimes punchier power metal. “Age Of The Machine” has its own character, missing a well-polished production (it has been entirely undertaken by the singer Christian Graeter), nor plastic-regurgitated pound music aimed at the general public, and having lead guitars as the spearhead that captivate you; on one hand with galloping rhythms and on the other one with razor sharp riffs, enriched with futuristic keys here and there. So it is a record worth listening to for sure, which it will defnitely surprise you, forgetting at the end of the day, the sometimes inappropriate vocals, which in no way, however, overall are not lagging behind and they stand satisfactorily throughout the 61-minute duration. They might remind you of something from Helloween, Gamma Ray, Iron Savior, Queensryche, but these are of little importance in front of a well-made, solid album. From the lyrical concept album that talks about some dystopian future, and which personally did not make me feel bored and skip, the opening guitar catchy “Two Worlds Collide”, the self-titled “Age Of The Machine”, can be easily distinguished at first glance.” Indestructible (personal favourite)”, the epic-melodic “Broken Wings” & “Never Surrender”, and after pressing replay, give more time and start deepening to the 12-minute epic “Seventh Galaxy” and the closing 9 min opus ‘’Unchain The Light’’. Personally, it overwhelmed me. A special release for the fans of the genre, it has that something different that we are looking for among tons of music, which is definitely present in the Vision Denied galaxy!
