As a greek saying goes: “No one is a prophet in their own land”, but things in northern Europe seem slightly different. There, any sort of corroboration from abroad is unnecessary for a band to be embraced by the local scene. It’s not that Volbeat haven’t made it beyond Denmark. This precise live album, “Let’s Bugie!” Live From Telia Parken”, is in fact evidence, a document of some sort, of the band’s vindication. Almost 50.000 fans (48.250 to be precise, which is the exact amount of people Telia Parken can hold) swamped Copenhagen’s Telia Parken, creating the perfect ambiance for Michael Poulsen’s band to celebrate its recognition with an enjoyable setlist, full of guest appearances. But this is how success tastes like, right? To other it brings discomfort whilst others get to have Lars Urlich, Mille Petrozza, Barney Greenway, Danko Jones and Mia Maja as guests in their performance…more specifically, Mille without the guitar at ‘7 Shots’, Barney Greenway during ‘Evelyn’, with Lars jamming to ‘Guitar Gangsters and Cadillac Blood’, half of ‘Enter Sandman’ as well. The album will please any devotees, it may suit also those who haven’t listened to the band before and want to get into their more typical work first through a best-of, maybe. It consists of 26 songs, amongst them are ‘The Devil’s Bleeding Crown’, ‘Heaven Nor Hell, ‘Lola Montez’, ‘Doc Holiday’, ‘Sad Man’s Tongue’, ‘Goodbye Forever’, ‘Seal The Deal’ και ‘Pool Of Booze, Booze, Booza’.
