One of Portugal’s hidden Heavy Metal gems is Wild Shadow; a band that created a decent fanbase worldwide, though it had never released a full length record. Everything the band recorded were in demo format and the wildest thing of all is that when Wild Shadow came together, none of the members learned to play with each other or based on standard compositions. As the legend says, everything was written by ear (anyone who has more information about this story, please feel free to comment or share it with us any means necessary)! So, almost thirty years later, id est after the release of the band’s first demo, Blood and Iron Records and Non Nobis Productions collected all of those tracks, including some live recordings and created a compilation for diehard fans only! This anthology includes the tracks of the band’s three demos, beginning with the tracks of the last one, followed by the tracks of the second and ending with the tracks of Wild Shadow’s first demo, plus three live tracks recorded at Rock Rendez Vous on 12-02-1990 (tracks 12-15).
Heavy metal to the bone, with speed and power / speed outbursts, adventurous guitar work supported by amazing kicks and blasts on drums and razorsharp vocals that complete masterfully the compositions. This anthology reeks of passion for the heavy metal genre, so be sure to be astonished. The rhythms vary, creating various feelings; from total excitement (like in “Restless Run”) to getting drunk and wallow in puddles of whiskey, as in track “Wings of Freedom”. Some may find it hard to listen to recordings such as these or even thing that the sound is crappy. Please, do us a favour and express that opinion out loud, with a public post even, so that, we, the normal enthusiasts can cast you out of this society. This release is dedicated to the memory of Lafayette, Wild Shadow ‘s guitarist. Those familiar with a band, invest in it fearlessly! This compilation will look god in your record collection. Those of you who are not acquainted with Wild Shadow, this anthology provides a good way to dive into Wild Shadow’s majesty.
