When someone hears the words “Black Punk” and “Finland in the same sentence, what is the mind’s reflex action? Good guess, to think about the almighty Impaled Nazarene. The band from Tampere neither can nor wants to hide its affection for the gods. “Why should we hide it anyway” as the ascendant of Vlad Tepes and Greek ex-Prime Minister Konstantinos Mitsotakis once said. I bet that the band, in a younger age, spent a lot of time listening to their favorite band, drinking Jack Daniels and, later on, making their appearance in the World with sole purpose to terrorize passer-by’s and perform other debaucheries!
Even if they are, in a way, a “tribute-like band”, meaning a band that has manifested influences to an excessive point, still they are so passionate and powerful that they just drift you along. Eight minutes of pure adrenaline, with crust, d-beat and black rhythms blended together, the vocals vomiting out verses about blasphemy, misanthropy, sexual perversion and other similar lovely stuff.
I can picture in my mind a live show from this band…seems like an experience worth having. And with their previous releases being equally good, as I realized by checking them out, I’d suggest that the fans of extreme music spend some time giving Wömit Angel a listen. They are worth that much…
