Genre: Epic Heavy Metal
Label: Cruz del Sur Music
There was a big noise last year around their name and to be honest their full length was not the masterpiece that most of the press and fans claimed it was. It had its moments but that was it all. Honest, decent, solid but not top notch. It won our sympathy and we all could bet our money on them as being the next big thing in traditional metal but that doesn’t mean that we will win this stake. “It’s a long way to the top if you wanna rock ‘n’ roll” and definitely the road is equally long and difficult if you chose the heavy metal path. Still the gap until the release of the mostly anticipated “Sophomore” full length from Gatekeeper is filled with a really nice ep. As in their debut, they sound epic and quite promising. All eyes are upon them whilst they show something different in ‘Moss’ with acoustic guitars and violins, something obscure and amusing for cult lovers as they are covering Tredegar with ‘Richard III’ and, lastly, something of a new breed, with a new and fresh version of ‘Tales of Twins’.
