Keep It True Announcement:
“It’s very difficult for us to post our announcement due to the current and horrible situation in Ukraine, but unfortunately we can’t keep you waiting any longer because you also have to plan too. The whole KIT family is thinking of everyone who is currently in need and we hope that this madness will end soon. In addition, we are considering a fundraising campaign by us as a scene for all victims of the senseless war of aggression. But at the end of this statement there is at least positive news to look forward to.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: Unfortunately we will not be able to do the KEEP IT TRUE Festival in April 2022 either. A festival like KIT with its many bands from all over the world and especially from the USA requires a certain time ahead and planning time. We’ve been waiting for a long time now, following the news and information every day, but time is simply running out and the risk is increasing. As of now, despite the promised lifting of many restrictions in Germany until March 20th., we do not know whether and under what conditions the festival could take place, which is why we made the decision to postpone the KIT to April 19-22, 2023. The KIT is an international event with many bands from all over the world. At the moment, even after the lifting of many restrictions, it is not certain whether we can hold full capacity and if the mask is still mandatory at indoor events. Some of the bigger bands like Loudness, Heathen, Griffin, Realm or Infernal Majesty had already canceled for 2022 and postponed to 2023. Even if it were allowed at the time of KIT at the end of April, we could not offer you what you bought the ticket for. That’s why we think it’s fairer for everyone that we postpone the entire billing to 2023, 95% of the bands have already agreed to it, we’re only talking to two bands about the date. The same billing on a different date would also be unfair to anyone who couldn’t on that new date, so we chose the most honest and most transparent method. It breaks our hearts as much as yours that we have to postpone again, but unfortunately we have no other choice. Anything else would be a suicide mission and endanger the existence of the festival.

All tickets remain valid for 2023. This applies to the festival (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) as well as the Warm Up Show. If you are unable to attend the 2023 event, we would like to ask you to offer the tickets either on our Facebook event page or privately to friends. The festival is completely sold out on Friday and Saturday and reselling shouldn’t be a big problem. Refunds mean an existential problem for us and we would therefore like to ask you to refrain from doing so.

But there is also positive news. After the postponement was decided internally, we decided to plan KEEP IT TRUE RISING 2 in the Posthalle again. This time a little earlier so we don’t have to fear again until the last second because of a cancellation. The KEEP IT TRUE RISING 2 will happen on October 1st. and 02.10.2022 in the Würzburg Posthalle. That is Saturday and Sunday, Monday 03.10. is a nationwide public holiday in Germany, so most of you wouldn’t need to take a vacation for Friday or Monday. On friday Sept 30th 2022 we will do a KIT RISING 2 “The Night Before” with 5 amazing bands. We have again tried everything to be able to offer you a sensational billing. This time we will celebrate the great NWOBHM. We will post more info on the special setlists in different posts. As in November, there will of course be separate tickets for KIT RISING 2. But here are the bands confirmed so far:
(40th anniversary Set List)
(Return to Hammersmith 1984 stage show)
(Lightning To The Nations Set List)
(Old School Set)
(Old School Set)

Finally, we would like to thank you for the many years of loyalty and support. For us, none of this can be taken for granted and we found this decision really difficult. The reactions to our KEEP IT TRUE TV are outstanding, and we would like to say thank you for that too. We try everything to offer you a unique concert experience and that’s why we often go different ways, this time too. We hope to be able to continue to count on your support.”
