Right on time and without delay the Greeks Low Gravity Band hit the stage and for about an hour they were a very pleasant surprise. I’m the completely unfamiliar with their style so I might not be just to them and might even make them laugh but what I heard can be described as an awesome band with both their feet in the 70’s, mainly blues and secondary funk influenced, keys that bring early Spiritual Beggars in mind, bass guitar that loves RHCP, drums that kept changing tempo and the guitar on a first role to sum them and tie them all together nice and smooth. They had a really good sound and warmed the people up enough to give them a good applause. Just in case know that, though we’re a music magazine we will be glad to inform you whenever the long awaited drug for the allergy that many have against the support bands, hits the market. Nashville Pussy is what we miss in our lives when it comes to gigs. Dirty, vulgar, horny rock n roll. They started with an AC/DC cover and by the end of Go Motherfucker Go, they had easily leveled AN club. Way better than their last gig here in Athens, they did a nice stroll over their discography with the jack flowing, Blaine emptying beers in his hat and drink it up (forget about the filters you see at late night half hour commercials), the rhythm section kicking down walls and Ruyter stealing the show not only because of her look but MAINLY because she grabs the SG and makes it screaming for help. I had the delusion that I watched Angus Young of the 70’s that fell down, banging and didn’t miss a note and all this with an amazing sound that let all the band’s filth sound crystal clear. Also for all you fellow guitar players:

What we heard was coming from a cheap distortion pedal not some fancy, million effects pedalboard and shit. Let that sink in. People had a blast, the band had a blast and this made a unique atmosphere that smelled gunpowder, booze, feet and sweat and this fantastic scent remained in the air even after the end of the gig where the smiles on everyone’s face were not fake but made out of good time like our friends from Atlanta, Georgia say. Finally, a good lesson that must be learned by many bands out there of how they sound treat their fans by Nashville who totally down to earth, great guys and more than friendly with the people that waited them. For any details go see them live.

Waiting for their next visit in Athens and soon!
