U.S.A. has the big 4 plus Exodus, Germany has the big Teutonic 4 plus Coroner from Switzerland, Brazil has its own big 4 (Sepultura, Sarcofago, Ratos de Porao, Korzus)… Let me introduce you to the big Greek 4! Flames, Suicidal Angels, Released Anger and yes, Mentally Defiled.

With only 2 albums in their discography (make sure to check their 2009 debut album “The Thrash Brigade”) Mentally Defiled deliver pure thrash metal at high speed. 10 songs in 34 minutes…Imagine that! You are hit so hard and so fast that you need to press the repeat button again in order to realize what happened. Trampled to death by heavy cavalry riffing is the impression you get when you encounter their sound for the first time. Listen to songs like “Thrash ‘till Afterlife”, “Retro Nerd”, “Beyond Redemption”, or “Soldier of the Underground” and you will recall that feeling. The cover artwork is made by Andrei Bouzikov (Municipal Waste, Toxic Holocaust…) and is stunning. Aptitude for Elimination is definitely one of the best thrash metal albums you will hear these days, so make sure to find it, melt it and include it in your best-of lists for 2014. Another good thing for the band (and for us of course) is that J. from the mighty black metallers Ravencult (as well as Principality of Hell) will be pounding the drums from this point onwards. Check them out NOW!
