Mystic Circle’s career is very interesting. They started at the golden years of Black Metal, when they released some very good albums, they toured with many big bands but finally they never managed to enter in the elite of Black Metal. There were two main reasons for this. First of all, they had very frequent line-up changes. Secondarily, they had split- up three times all these years. Coming to today, we see that they are active from last year, when they released the EP “Letters from the Devil”. The previous full length release was “The Bloody Path of God” in 2006. It is no coincidence that in this year release, they give the name of the band. It is something like renaissance. “Mystic Circle” gives you the feeling that they never gave up and that they now continue from where they left off. They are definitely mature and conscious musicians. They do not try to sound original but to honor the heritage of 90’s Βlack Metal. Although they are Germans, they are mainly affected from Norwegian Black Metal scene but also in the melodies of Swedish metal. The songs are crafted with old school philosophy but the production sounds modern, giving a freshness and clarity to the compositions. They will bring you in mind, several mainstream/ commercial successful bands of Black Metal, like Dimmu Borgir and Cradle of Filth, so they are comfortably recommended to the fans of these bands. In the digipack cd edition, there is a bonus track, a cover on Possessed and their classic “Death Metal”. Mystic Force returned dynamically and we hope this time they will achieve to deliver more as they definitely have spare to give.
